| Areas of interest |
Bazel Street
A little enclave,a quiet serene European-like spot in the middle of the City. A residential area with a great centre in the middle
with eclectic shops, unique little boutiques and a
plethora of places to eat or drink, depending on your
mood or budget.
Nachmani-Montifiore
This intersection of streets
has become a major food centre in Tel Aviv. The area
is quiet, the buildings are mostly from the 1910s-1930s,
and you can find just about any kind of food
and spend as much or as little as you like.
Neve Tzedek
The first Jewish settlement outside
the walls of Jaffa.A residential neighbourhood,
especially for artists and young people, with narrow
lanes,a fantastic renovated pastel coloured building,
cute little stores,unique galleries,and food...tiny
bakeries,elegant bistros and unique cafes.Neve
Tzedek:architecture,a culinary,cultural,historical,
shopping wonderland.
Rothschild
One of the few tree lined boulevards in
Tel Aviv. History is everywhere you look. Rothschild
Boulevard was the first major street in Tel Aviv, with
most of the original architecture dating back to the
1910s-1930s. Here you can find
the first street lamp and the
city's first kiosk. On sunny
Friday afternoons you will often
find festivals and live jazz.
Sheinkin
More than a street - a state of mind. Some
say Greenwich Village others
say Berkeley. A Bohemian
area with great nightlife,
intimate coffee houses and fantastic shopping - cool
furniture, great accessories, music stores, mystical
shops, jewellery and, of course, clothing.
Tel Aviv port area
Located at the northern-most
coastal section of Tel Aviv, this area is known for
having the largest concentration of Israeli music
clubs and ethnic restaurants.
Old Jaffa
One of the world's most ancient port
cities, its history reaches back almost 4,000 years.
Today Jaffa is a suburb of Tel Aviv. Great care has
been given to developing old Jaffa as a cultural and
historical centre to preserve its distinct old-world
Mediterranean flavour. Its restored alleyways and
cobbled streets host a thriving artist's colony,and
green oasis-like parks frame the archaeological sites
and museums. You can wander the twisting passages
and discover antiquities, modern ceramics, paintings,
exquisite jewellery and much more.
The Diaspora Museum
The Diaspora Museum tells the story of the Jewish people
beginning with their expulsion from the
land of Israel 2,500 years ago to the
present day. The history, traditions
and heritage of Jewish life in all
parts of the world are brought to
life with audio-visual displays
and an interactive media
presentation.
